This editorial introduces the theme issue on Digitizing Valuation. We suggest that digitization is not simply a process of turning existing valuation instruments and practices into code. Rather, digitizing valuations can have unique implications for how social order is established, challenged, and maintained. The contributions in this issue explore how digital technologies are reshaping practices of valuation across different domains, from algorithmic trading to digital health records.
